Auxiliary Unit 21

What is the American Legion Auxiliary

The American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) is one of the largest patriotic women's organizations in the United States, and it was founded in 1919 to support the work of The American Legion, which is a veterans service organization. Though originally formed for female relatives of veterans, the ALA has grown to include all spouses, male or female, and direct descendants (such as sons and daughters) of veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
